Manchester Thunder, Vitality Netball Superleague Champions are launching a monthly netball podcast series. The first of its kind produced by a Superleague team, Thundercast will fill the void created by the lack of on court action for netball supporters missing the game and also allow Manchester Thunder to remain fully engaged with its current and future followers. This initiative forms part of the Absence Makes Our Sport Grow Stronger campaign that the franchise is unveiling in response to the vastly different sporting landscape created by COVID-19 and highlights its commitment to show resilience and emerge stronger.
Hosted by TV and radio presenter and international netball commentator Lindsey Chapman, Thundercast will feature an exciting mix of star quality guests, honest insight and reaction to the biggest talking points in the game. There will also be behind the scenes action and regular features where supporters of the game can get truly involved and have their views heard.
Manchester Thunder Franchise Director, Caroline Rogers said,
“During these challenging times, we have been working incredibly hard to find innovative ways to secure the long-term financial sustainability of the franchise, so this podcast series forms part of the wider campaign. We understand how much the netball and wider sporting community is missing sport right now so we have launched this exciting new podcast alongside our new Official Membership so that we can continue to engage with our loyal fan base, appeal to a new wider audience and also boost the visibility of the club. As the leading Superleague franchise we are constantly looking to set ambitious standards to drive forward the sport on a global level and are determined that the increased profile and popularity that netball has enjoyed in recent years is not lost.”
Thundercast presenter Lindsey Chapman added,
I’m really excited to get behind the mic for Thundercast. We’ve all been missing the Netball Superleague, supporting our teams and playing the game ourselves. The pod is a brilliant opportunity to connect with the wider netball family and get the inside scoop on what’s going on in the world of Netball. Not only that, but it’s got all the spirit, honesty and fun of Manchester Thunder. Let’s go Thundercast, let’s go!
Thundercast listeners will have the opportunity to submit their own questions to guests on the show through the Official Membership. This benefit is one of many privileges that that being included in the new and improved package that is also being introduced next month to coincide with the launch of Thundercast.
Thundercast will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and TuneIn from Wednesday 5th August from 17:00.
