Manchester Thunder volunteer Rebekah Turner has been nominated for an England Netball Goalden Globe Award.
The 16-year-old from Denton has already scooped the North West Young Volunteer Award and is hoping to secure the national prize at a Great Gatsby-themed ceremony at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on Saturday, September 19. Rebekah is a key member of the ‘Thunder Crew’ group of volunteers on matchdays and beyond and is also one of the junior volunteers who works alongside the head coach at Denton Netball Club. She helps to coach the Year 5 players and has done since they started at the club in Year 2. Rebekah’s dedication to volunteering is also evident with her putting in many additional hours assisting at tournaments getting up very early and sometimes does not arrive home until after 7pm. The keen player has been involved in the England Pass on your Passion, completing 400 hours in 18 months. The Goalden Globe Awards
