The Black and Yellows fell to an agonising one-goal defeat to league leaders Loughborough Lightning last time out. They play Celtic Dragons in round 12 of the Superleague and beating them on their home turf will be no easy feat. Dragons have pushed the top teams close this season and finally got their first win on the board against Sirens in round nine.
They have already tested Thunder when the sides met at the Thunderdome last month and head coach Karen Greig expects the return fixture to be no different. She said: “We needed to go away and learn from that loss and be ready for the next game. I chatted to the girls after last week’s game and they were disappointed with the loss. But they’re also really upbeat on how they finished the game and were talking about the positives and looking at how to move on against Dragons, which will be a tough game..”
It will be a busy Bank Holiday weekend for the squad, as they will next head back to the Thunderdome to take on Team Northumbria on Monday evening.
