Manchester Thunder NPL were crowned league champions for the FIFTH year in a row on Monday.
The youth squad beat Yorkshire Jets 61-41 at Manchester Arena to secure the title – their sixth in eight seasons. Their victory over Jets kept up their incredible unbeaten run, which has now stretched to five years, with their last loss coming in 2011. The Black and Yellows won a thrilling match away at Surrey Storm by one goal just two days earlier, with the home side unable to beat the buzzer and force the game into extra time. Storm were the last team to beat them, back on April 17, 2011.
The Thunder NPL squad, captained by Beccy Hoult, will be officially presented with the NPL trophy at the Copper Box Arena on May 7.
