The annual fund-raising initiative – in aid of Cancer Research UK – was once again a huge success.
The Black and Yellows encouraged fans and volunteers to wear pink for their home match against Surrey Storm, auctioned off signed netball dresses and sold special pink t-shirts. More than £300 was raised at the game.
To coincide with the club’s efforts, creative, media and digital communications agency Dentsu Aegis Network held a Wear it Pink charity day at their city centre offices, which included pampering sessions, a balloon raffle and a special edition of the Chuck a Duck game.
Coach Dan Ryan was joined by captain Sara Bayman and Jamaican star Malysha Kelly at the event, where they met staff, posed for pictures and signed autographs.
Katie Pennington from Dentsu Aegis Network said: “Wear it Pink day was a great success at Dentsu Aegis Network Manchester, especially the Chuck A Duck with the guys from Thunder. As well as enlisting the Fashion Police to fine anyone not wearing pink, we also sold pamper treatments, pink raffle balloons and ‘pink‘n’ mix sweets to bump up our total amount raised to £700 for Cancer Research UK!”
