Manchester Thunder are delighted to announce that Lauren Palmer will be the new Pathway Head Coach until the end of November. Palmer replaces Alex Young who is currently on maternity leave following the birth of her son Alfie and is already involved in the pathway as the under 19’s head coach.
Both the under-21 and under-19 age groups are to resume training today following a two month break and Palmer will be in immediate control. A thorough testing regime is in place, increasing safety and mitigating risk. Following the government road map, further elements of the pathway will be able to return from the 29th of March.
On her appointment Palmer commented: “I’m privileged and honoured to be taking on this role as Pathway Head Coach, and can’t wait to see what this group of talented athletes and coaches can achieve together this season.”
“I’m looking forward to working with the players, staff and parents involved to keep Manchester Thunder’s Pathway moving forward in the right direction.”
“It’s great to have Lauren on board, she has been a valuable member of our Pathway Coaching team for the last five years so already has a great understanding of the Thunder Way that is embedded across the franchise. Looking forward to working with her to see how we can keep evolving our pathway to be the best it possibly can.”
