We’re backing the NSPCC’s Parents in Sport Week (7-13 October) which promotes positive parental involvement in youth sport and encourages parents to ensure they’re fully involved with what their child is doing.
Debbie Hallas, Manchester Thunder Managing Director, said:
“A huge amount of time and effort goes into safeguarding at Manchester Thunder and at the many brilliant netball clubs we have across the North West but it’s important parents are part of those efforts. I would absolutely encourage all parents to sign up to the NSPCC’s Sports Parents Promise so they know who to ask, know what to ask and know what to do to keep their child safe.
“As a mum, as a netballer and as Manchester Thunder’s Managing Director, I know the huge benefits young people get from being involved in any sport. But the most important thing for all of us is to keep them safe. This campaign and these efforts are another important step forward in ensuring they are.”
