Manchester Thunder travel to Team Bath in a bid to protect their unbeaten run in the Superleague.
The Black and Yellows will be confident with coming away with a good result, following double victory over title rivals Surrey Storm and Hertfordshire Mavericks in London last weekend. It has been a roller-coaster week for the defending champions with the announcement that head coach Tracey Neville will leave to take the helm at England Netball at the end of the season. Neville will lead England for the World Cup in Sydney, taking over from Anna Mayes who was sacked after four years in charge. |
Neville, who won 81 caps for England and has coached Thunder since 2011, said: “Thunder is my only focus right now. “Bath is a live game on Sky Sports, which is an added pressure so we will need to be on the top of our game to come away with a good result.”
Team Bath have shown indifferent form so far this season, starting the second phase of the season with a resounding 63-24 victory over Team Northumbria. However, Thunder will need to be at their best in attack to beat Bath’s stubborn defence, with England defender Sam Cook in great form. The match will be live on Sky Sports 1, with coverage starting at 7.30pm. |
