New Manchester Thunder signing, Laura Malcolm, has been announced as the new pathway academy coach.
Following the departure of Sheonah Forbes due to maternity leave, Malcolm will take the reins of the incredibly successful pathway for the next six months.
Malcolm starts the role immediately and her first mission will be the tough task of the annual trials.
Malcolm said: “I started coaching pretty much the same time as I started playing thanks to the encouragement of one my PE teachers. For the last 14 years, I’ve continued to develop my coaching and embraced every new coaching opportunity that’s came my way.”
“Being involved in the Thunder Pathway, which has proven itself to be one of the most successful pathways in the country, is a fantastic opportunity and an experience that I am definitely grabbing with both hands. I can’t wait to get started!”
Managing Director Debbie Hallas commented:
“Laura is a great addition to the Thunder pathway – along with being an up and coming coach with great organisational skills, she brings dynamism and plenty of enthusiasm. She will certainly bring a great deal of energy and will no doubt continue the great development of our pathway during Sheonah’s absence.”
