The weekend was a big test for us with a double header weekend facing Team Bath and Hertfordshire Mavericks. With such a short turn around we had to come out fighting against Mavericks. That’s exactly what we did with getting a strong lead from the whistle and Mavericks didn’t seem to have a response to us in the first quarter.
As the game went on Mavericks were getting in the swing of things and fighting back but we were just too dominant and with interceptions and shots going in there was no way we were letting them bring the score back. After a solid win behind us we now have to concentrate on the next game against Yorkshire Jets and what a better way than having a night off to catch up with the intense weekend of netball. Back into training on Thursday everyone seemed lively and full of energy! Starting with the warm up and a new invented game volleyball football! I don’t think we’ve laughed so much as a squad in a warm up before. Tracey got our heads quickly back into focus and it was time for us to focus on Jets and how to counteract their shooting circle strengths. |
