With a new season comes a new dress, and we are extremely excited to announce that we have partnered with Nike to bring you a dress that not only looks strong, but represents Manchester’s women at their finest.
“We are here, not because we are law-breakers; we are here in our efforts to become law-makers”
Emmeline Pankhurst was born in Moss Side, and Manchester is where the Suffragette movement started, fighting tirelessly to allow women the right to vote.
Incorporating a thunderbolt shaped sash, as a clear nod to the iconic sashes worn by the Suffragette movement and the women who changed history, the thunderbolt is being reclaimed after not being used for a number of seasons. The away dresses are also inspired by the purple the Suffragettes wore to demonstrate dignity.
Debbie Hallas, Managing Director of Manchester Thunder said, “I’m delighted that we have secured a 4 year deal with Nike, an iconic brand making huge strides in the netball world. I have been impressed by the thought and detail that has gone into our first dress with the strong messaging around reclaiming the Thunderbolt, the sash aligning with the suffragette movement and of course strong Manchester women.”
“We always strive to push our sport to another level and in partnership with Nike we can achieve this on and off the court.”
