We’re absolutely delighted to announce that three Manchester Thunder players have been selected to represent England Roses in the forthcoming test series against the Silver Ferns.
Amy Carter, Eleanor Cardwell and Laura Malcolm will join the Roses squad and travel to New Zealand to take on the World Champions in the three- Test Cadbury Netball series in October which will take place at the Claudelands Arena in Hamilton.
Ahead of new COVID-19 government guidelines regarding elite team sport, the Roses will fly to New Zealand on 8 October and will need to quarantine for two weeks before competition commences on 28 October.
Manchester Thunder Director of Netball, Karen Greig has said, “I’m thrilled to see that Amy, Laura and Eleanor have been named in the Roses squad… in these difficult times I am really excited to see all three take to court with the rest of the Roses squad. They were in great form when last season came to a halt and all of them have been working extremely hard over the lockdown period. Being named in this squad is great reward for them.”
Head Coach, Jess Thirlby has commented, “ We are extremely excited about the prospect of a series with the Silver Ferns…None of us could have prepared for the impact COVID-19 would cause… however, as a team they have pulled together through these difficult times and I’m pleased that they will now have a chance to get some more international exposure after an unsettling year and as we build towards a home Commonwealth Games.”
Well done girls!
