We’re delighted to welcome a new addition to the Thunder Family as Alex Young joins us as our new Pathway Head Coach.
Alex joins with a wealth of experience in similar roles having led the successful Yorkshire Pathway where they saw a resurgence of athletes selected for the National Academy.
Alex’s hard work was rewarded with her appointment as England U17 Head Coach and she them through a successful Netball Europe event.
She brings a passionate and enthusiastic nature and is competitive to the core.
Alex said:
“I’m really excited to be a part of the Manchester Thunder family. Working in performance sport is my passion and I’m looking forward to working with some of the best athletes in the country, within the best Superleague team.
“It’s an exciting time to be involved with the sport and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to work with Manchester Thunder and ready for the challenge.”
Thunder’s Director of Netball Karen Greig added:
“I’m so excited to have Alex join our team. She brings a wealth of experience, having developed and led a very successful Performance Pathway in Yorkshire and with a stint as England U17 head coach.
“Alex is a determined coach and the passion she will bring to this role, to develop athletes and maintain and progress our Performance Pathway programme will be a perfect fit for our ethos here at Thunder.”
Alex’s first task before we head into our trials period will be to lead our Pathway squads through NPFL and U15 tournaments.
