Manchester Thunder won the Mike Greenwood Trophy for the first time since 2014 with an golden-goal win over benecosMavericks.
The Black and Yellows won the final 31-29 to see-off Mavericks and take victory in the tournament created in honour of late former manager, Mike Greenwood.
The pair made the final after coming through the round-robin stage, which also included Superleague sides Team Bath and Team Northumbria.
Coaches took the opportunity to rotate their squads and blood youngsters, with a number of senior players absent at the Commonwealth Games, ahead of the Superleague’s return next weekend.
Fans were treated to a day of quality netball, which culminated in a thrilling final, which saw Thunder avenge their recent Superleague loss to Mavericks.
The hosts had fallen 10 goals down at one stage in the game but were able to get back in touch after head coach Karen Greig made some changes.
With the scores locked at full time, we headed into extra time, where the first team to score two clear goals would be declared winners.
