So the war of the roses match has arrived – yikes, round 7 already?!
Over the past 7 rounds we’ve put out some good stuff, but that all came to a halt after Storm did the damage on us – resulting in our first loss of the 2016 season – gutted (although we have to thank the fans for getting behind us for the full 60mins – you guys were brill!)
We felt it had been coming a little, after the BIG Bath win our performances over Loughborough, Mavs and Storm weren’t clinical enough – so our first defeat wasn’t a great feeling but it has given us a wake up call to step it up another notch & the Jets match is a good opportunity to do just that.
Everyone who’s into their Netball (and even those who aren’t) will know about the rivalry of the roses and the results from the 2015 season portrayed just how big the rivalry is – with Thunder getting a one goal win in the last few seconds of the game.
Jets are looking for their first win this season and being a previous Jets player for 6 years I know just how much the players, staff and fans will want to get their first win on Saturday – and on home territory. It’s a great challenge for Thunder to get back on the horse and compete to retain our top of the table position – and I’m excited for the challenge.
We will have to make sure we execute our game plan for the full 60mins and against Jets it’ll be a great test.
So hope we have lots of Thunder fans cheering us on this Saturday (yes including you Mum and Dad) – see you all there!!
