Manchester Thunder has selected the coaching team for the U21 squad.
Suzy Ashworth will take the helm with Pamela Hazelton stepping in as her assistant.
Ashworth is already an established coach at Thunder, especially in the youth ranks having previously achieved multiple titles with the U19 and U21 squads.
She has worked as a support to Superleague coach Karen Greig, most recently at the Fast5 All-Stars competition last month.
Ashworth said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the U21 squad again this year and I’m excited to be working with Pam.
“There are so many talented athletes coming through the pathway and its great that there is a competition for our U21s. I’m ready to get going and getting back in the Black and Yellow.”
Hazelton is also an experienced coach and has won numerous national titles in a variety of age groups with Oldham Netball Club, where she runs the junior section.
She also coaches the Oldham Premier Regional team where, working with a lot of U21 athletes and is able to develop these athletes to compete with the best senior players in the North West.
Hazelton said of her appointment as U21 assistant coach:
“I am delighted to join the coaching team at Thunder and particularly working with my fellow coach Suzy. There is a wealth of talented athletes in the Thunder program and I’m looking forward to coaching them.”
