The 2016 Vitality Netball Superleague will see all eight teams battle it out in the same place on the opening day for Super Saturday.
For the first time in the league’s history, Thunder will join the other seven franchises for their first match in Birmingham on Saturday, January 30.Three other matches will also take place at the Genting Arena. Tickets will go on general sale this Friday at 11am through Sky Tickets, where one ticket will gain access to all four games. The event will be Superhero themed and fans are encouraged to dress in their team colours to roar on their heroes. The first centre pass will be at 2pm with last year’s runners-up Hertfordshire Mavericks facing Celtic Dragons. |
Reigning Champions Surrey Storm finish off the day with a match-up against the returning Anna Stembridge (nee Mayes) and her Team Bath side.
Following the opening weekend will be 14 rounds of the regular Superleague season, over 12 weeks.
Thunder face a tough run-in, with the 2014 champions needing to negotiate a difficult away fixture at Surrey before they face Rose rivals Yorkshire Jets at home on the final day of the season on Monday, April 18. The Grand Final will be contested on Saturday, May 7.
